Conexiones in Venezuela: Dr. Snider's cross-cultural empowerment pedagogy

Abstract


In this piece, we share our reflections on Dr. Snider’s teachings and curricular practices, including the importance of his cross-cultural empowerment pedagogy at a workshop in Venezuela.  We ground our discussion in Paulo Freire’s theoretical foundation as put forth in his Pedagogy of the Oppressed and discuss the ways Venezuelan students used Dr. Snider’s debate lessons to protest oppressive conditions in Venezuela.
