In addition to several regional representatives (more details to follow) CEDA will be presenting a slate of candidates to the membership for election in the fall of 2009. We are looking for individuals to run for the following offices.

1) First Vice-President (vacant now, starting in 2011) - This position will be a replacement election and the person will begin their service in 11-12 as the first Vice President. This person will then serve as the organizational president in 2012-13.

2) Second Vice-President - This position is the regularly scheduled progression of 2nd VP, 1st VP and President, beginning in 2010-11.

3) Topic Selection Committee Representative - This person will serve a three year term on the topic committee and will begin service in the spring of 2011.

More information about all of the offices are found in the CEDA constitution. Please email me at stables@usc.edu with nominations, including self-nominations. Nominations will be closed at the conclusion of the CEDA business meeting in NCA and a public ballot will soon follow.

To clarify, there are four regional representative elections taking place this year. They are:

The Northeast
The Mid-Atlantic
The North Central
The South Central

Nominations are welcome.

I think the years listed for the CEDA offices are off.

1.  The vacant position (Sue was 1st VP this year but Davis assumed that role and will become President at the conclusion of 2010 CEDA Nats): So we are without a 2nd VP for the remainder of the year.  The person elected in January will finish this academic year as 2nd VP.  Become 1st VP in academic year 2010-2011.  Become President 2011-2012.

2.  The regularly scheduled normal 2nd VP election that takes place yearly will be elected in January.  Will begin term as 2nd VP at the conclusion of CEDA Nats for the 2010-2011 academic year.  Will become 1st VP in the 2011-2012 academic year.  Will become the President in the 2012-2013 academic year.
