The Sacramento State debate program has openings for up to 3 graduate assistants starting in the fall of 2012.  Debate graduate assistants are not required to be from the communication studies graduate program.

The Communication Studies Department at CSUS has many talented and dedicated faculty members in a diverse range of specialties.  A Master's degree from our department may is good preparation for doctoral or other professional education, or positions in business, industry, or government.  Former students from this department have been accepted into top doctoral programs including Iowa, UNC Chapel Hill, Arizona State University the University of Utah, and USC.  Our areas of study include mediated communication, political communication, social interaction, and organizational and instructional communication.  For more information visit http://www.asn.csus.edu/coms/graduate-program/New/Grad-Index.html

As noted above, our debate assistants can come from any graduate program on campus.  Sacramento State has some outstanding graduate programs including public policy (http://www.csus.edu/ppa/) and government (http://www.csus.edu/govt/Masters-Govt.html).

Our team has a strong focus on novice debate, with the majority of our debaters joining the team with no debate experience.  If you’d like more information on our team or graduate school at Sac State please contact me at khamilton@csus.edu.
