Most of you will be flying into Salt Lake City airport, which will not be affected by the cuts, so your travel plans remain unaffected.

But if you are flying directly into Ogden, it has come to our attention that Ogden Hinckley Airport is on the list of 200 small airports that are in jeopardy of losing their air traffic control tower as a direct result of the sequester.  Half of the airports on this list will have their air traffic control towers closed. Closures are likely to commence by April 1st.

Until then, the FAA will be reviewing applications to keep air traffic control towers open through mid March with a final list posted on March 18th. Ogden has submitted its appeal. Should Ogden fall into the half of airports to have their towers shut down, the mayor is considering using city funds to keep the towers staffed and operational.

We are in the process of assessing what impact this would have on NDT travel. Those of you who are flying in on Allegiant to Ogden, please let us know and we will keep on top of developments locally.  Email oguevara@hotmail.com for updates.
