Hi folks -

Hoping everyone's preparations are going well. We are looking forward to you joining us tomorrow.

Please review this carefully - some things have changed from prior years (those are bolded)

A few new requests:

Please instruct your teams, judges, observers:

Do NOT bring food into Trinkle or Annex A.

Do NOT touch any technology in rooms, or remove furniture or items from rooms.

Do NOT smoke on the porches/entryways of the buildings. Please move away from the entrances. Also, please dispose of cigarettes in one of the available receptacles.

Now the standard items:

1) Schedule attached.

2) Directions - for mapping purposes, the campus address is 1301 College Ave., 22401

A campus map is attached. Please review it - we are using *different* buildings from the past (the old JV/novice building is gone).

We are using the Basement Lounge of 1201 William St. for registration and the District meeting (#2 on map).

District debates will be in Combs Hall (#17).

JV/Novice will be in Annex A (#6) *AND*  Trinkle (#51). We typically move the division to Combs after the first elim on Sunday.

During the weekend, there is typically ample parking on/around College Avenue, and some parking in the lot in front of Combs.

Regarding 1201 William: The building is at the corner of William and College Ave, but the entrance is on College - use the door to the *left* of the building's driveway. You should be able to park on Buckner, which is a side street off College Ave.

3) Guest Internet instructions are here -

It is very simple - just connect to guest network, it will ask for an email and for you to create a password. You can then use that login info throughout the weekend. Please make sure to distribute intructions to your contingent PRIOR to your arrival on campus.

4) We will have light snacks, coffee, and water throughout the day. Lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and reception with appetizers Sunday night. Most of the hotels that folks are staying in also provide breakfast. If you need help finding a place to feed your squad, please don't hesitate to ask our staff.

5) Point scale - The NDT will be using the 30 point scale with tenths, no ties are allowed. We will use the same scale. Please inform your judges of the scale. It is our intent to use online balloting for JV/Novice only. D7 division will use paper, because we also still use cards. [D7!!!]

6) Registration is at 1201 William, between 2 and 4 on Friday.

The District 7 Meeting begins at 2:30. [Agenda will be sent by separately].

If you don't think you will make it to registration, please call or text me at 540-760-4542 to let me know your status. We need all entries confirmed (and ideally in Fredericksburg) in order to produce the pairings.
