Registration is now open for the Speech & Debate as Civic Education Conference at Penn State, March 5-7, 2015. The conference will feature a keynote address by former debater and presidential speechwriter, Craig R. Smith, along with a luncheon address by another former debater and former dean of the School of Communication at Northwestern University, David Zarefsky. In addition to competitively selected panels, there will also be four spotlight panels with presentations from Michael Bartanen and Robert Littlefield, David A. Frank, G. Thomas Goodnight, Ronald W. Greene and Darrin Hicks, Edward A. Hinck, William Keith, Allan Louden, Gordon R. Mitchell, Timothy M. O'Donnell, Catherine H. Palczewski, Angela G. Ray, Robert Rowland, Gordon Stables, Melissa Maxcy Wade, Carly S. Woods, and Joseph P. Zompetti.

Registration can be completed by visiting http://debateconference.psu.edu/registration/ and filling out either the online or mail-in registration form. Registration closes on Friday, February 27th. After this date, an additional $30 will be assessed for each registration. On-site registration is available.

There are a limited number of rooms available at the Nittany Lion Inn for conference participants for a special rate of $135/night until February 3rd, 2015. Reservations can be made using group code DEBC15A either online (http://www.nittanylioninn.psu.edu) or by phone (800-233-7505).
