I'm attaching Al Louden's essay, with his permission, to make it easy to find.

It is intended for high school students (or parents thereof) who are trying to make a good decision about debate as part of their undergraduate experience.

The CEDA EC Approved the following handout for distribution at appropriate events, not limited to NSDA Nationals, the ToC, and other high school tournaments.
