A couple of important judging announcements as we get closer to the opener:

A few important judging announcements as we get closer to the opener:

1) An Appeal to Opt In-- As you know, GSU is using an opt-in process in order to diversify the judging pool, including for elimination debates.  If you wish to opt in, I encourage you to do so now so that we can plan appropriately. I am aware of the many reasonable objections to the opt-in process. However, it represents a significant attempt to diversify the judging pool, and its relative success will only be enhanced to the extent that there is a significant contingent of interested judges and educators.

2) Judging Commitments- It appears that some schools are over their commitment, while others are under. If you are under because you have hired someone, can you please alert me at timbarouch@gmail.com.

3) Reminder- GSU would still like to hire judges for prelims. Contact me at the above email address if you are interested.
