Samford University’s Department of Communication Studies invites applications for a position as debate coach, to be appointed at the rank of instructor, non-tenure track. A master’s degree in communication studies or a related field is required. Substantial experience in coaching NDT/CEDA college debate is required.  This is a three-year, non-renewable position. Candidates must be willing to support the university’s Christian mission.

Starting date for the position is August 2016. Salary and benefits are competitive. All application materials should be submitted to rwgallow@samford.edu.  Applicants should include a curriculum vitae, three letters of recommendation, a 1-2 page statement describing the candidate’s debate coaching philosophy, and student course evaluations. Questions may be directed to the Search Committee Chair Ryan Galloway at rwgallow@samford.edu.

In order to receive full consideration, applications must be received by Jan. 15, 2016.
