With the passing this month of Michael Bear Byrant and Alfred Tuna Snyder, I feel as though there should be some heated debate on this forum. I fondly remember the first time Bear called me out on CEDA-L for giving his team a low point win. I rarely agreed with either Bear or Tuna, but I deeply respected their passion for this activity. I will miss my exchanges with both of them on CEDA-L and this forum, although the rest of you probably don't miss those exchanges as much. RIP Bear and Tuna.

As a new season begins I feel particularly sad in missing my friends Bear and Tuna. The three of us shared an office at Wayne State University in 1982-83 and the arguments in that office were both fierce and fun. Debating against Bear, coaching with him and being judged and coached by Tuna were memories that I will always treasure and are the kind of memories that make this activity the special place that it is.
