Greg remains a role model of coaches. Someone who showed you by example how to compete hard but not hate your opponent. Almost 10 years after I had left high school, he and Paula were kind enough to open their home to my then-girlfriend (future wife) and brother and I when we came to Atlanta for the 1996 Olympics. He and Paula were, and are, those kind of people. People who make you better by association. RIP Greg. You made the people around you better. Love, Alex

That's a perfect description of Greg as a "brilliant, talented, creative perfectionist." I had a lot of conversations with Greg over the years and one of the most animated I saw him was talking about split infinitives being "the hobgoblin of small minds." Well, that's more the perfectionist part. Such a loss.

Sorry for your loss, Paula. Memories of the first time meeting Greg on a debate trip to Alabama and bonding over The Who during the long ride.

Paula, very sorry to hear this. It is a loss for all. The high school debate season when I traveled with him and the Pace team is among my favorites. He was unique and inspiring.

Just donated to the Atlanta Dog Squad... Can't feel sorry about Greg because I'd rather celebrate his life, his laughter and his slightly cranky judging. Good man, great life!

Many, many thanks to all of you who came by to share memories of Greg Gregory Myrberg yesterday. The love that I felt in that room will keep me going for a long time. At some future time I hope to plan a memorial and celebration of his life. So many messages from so far away made it clear that many who loved him would not be able to attend yesterday's gathering. Someone suggested yesterday that Greg can DJ the event, given the many music mixes he made and shared with all of us. I'll be in touch when I have details. I love you all.

So sorry to hear about Greg. Very sorry for your loss, Paula. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mention of the mixes made me smile. That and consistent recommendations of, you know you should read, or listen to "x" are a strong memory of Greg. That and an ability to find humor in so many places.

Thank you for letting us know, Paula. I don't think either of you knows just how important you are to me both when I was a young debater and as a young coach and teacher. I love you both. I will do my best to send you strength.

Paula, I just learned tonight of this profound loss; my condolences come late, but with the utmost sincerity.

You and Greg were such a special couple. He was a great guy. I have so many fond memories.

I'm going to turn on my love light for both of you tonight, and remind you that there is a fountain that was not made by the hands of men.

I know that Greg's playlists will give you strength, and you'll know that the music never stopped 🌅

Much love,
Mark
