Hello!

The Communication Studies department at CSU Northridge is hiring a tenure-track faculty member to be our new Director of Forensics. We have circulated the call in a few places, but I wanted to make sure folks here saw it as well.

CSU Northridge is located about 30 minutes north of downtown Los Angeles in the Beautiful San Fernando Valley. From our university website:  "Serving more than 42,000 students each year, CSUN is one of the largest universities in the United States...The Social Mobility Index ranked CSUN fifth in the nation for elevating its studentsí economic and social well-being. CSUN ranks 10th in the country in awarding bachelorís degrees to underrepresented minority students, fifth nationally in awarding masterís degrees to Hispanic students and enrolls the largest number of deaf and hard-of-hearing students of any U.S. state university. CSUN is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American, Native American, Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI) and we value the diversity of all of our students and the campus community. CSUN is a welcoming university that champions accessibility, academic excellence, and student success."

In addition, our department - the Department of Communication Studies - highly values diversity, so we are trying to ensure a diverse applicant pool and to recruit candidates interested in serving a diverse student population. We would appreciate you circulating the call among any graduate students, members of your coaching staff, or any other forensics community members that you think would be a good fit.
