Title: Letter from Trustees Regarding Cancellation of JMU NDT
Post by: jzhawk on March 11, 2020, 01:02:42 PM
2020 NDT qualifiers, coaches, and judges: Attached please find a letter from the Board of Trustees providing a more detailed explanation of our recent vote to cancel the 2020 NDT at JMU. As the letter notes, the folks on the NDT Committee are working hard to explore all of the various alternative plans that have been discussed, so you can expect more communications in the coming days from them regarding those efforts.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to me directly or publicly. I will do my best to respond to everyone.

Thank you to all of the coaches, debaters, judges, and administrators who make sure this activity continues. The past few days have reminded how under-appreciated and under-compensated you all are in relation to your skills and work ethics.

I’m no longer in the community.  Not my pig, not my farm.  That said, if the ndt had been cancelled my senior year, I would have been absolutely beyond crushed.  I also know that if there had been *any* possibility of a safe online alternate NDT - no matter how flawed or imperfect -
it would have meant the world to me.  I imagine many seniors this year feel the same.  If there is a way to do this, please let’s make it happen.
