Tournament Update - 11-1-10
« on: November 01, 2010, 12:24:03 PM »
1.  Entries close at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 3.  You can drop/add teams as you need up until this point through the debateresults website, any change after that time will need to be emailed to myself directly at . A number of teams have not entered their judging, and while we have a limited number of rounds for hire only a few teams have contacted me directly. If you need to hire rounds or have already hired rounds through another school please update debate results to reflect that.  Please make sure that all of your team and judge information is accurate so we can open judge prefs on Wednesday night.  Also, please make sure that you've updated the total number of attendees, including observers and any special dietary needs.

2.  Like last year, and as mentioned in the invitation, prelims will not be in Demoss Hall.  Registration will be located near the information desk of our North Campus and all prelims and the awards reception will be held on North Campus.  We will move back to our traditional location in DeMoss Hall for elims on Sunday.  Please don't park in spots with silver diamonds or spots reserved for specific members of our administration.  Otherwise, you may park in the lots reserved for faculty and commuting students.  Refer to this campus map ( for more details.

3.  We are using many rooms in our law school, including several mock court rooms.  It is essential that we take no food or drink (other than water) into the law school rooms and that we leave these rooms as we found them.

4.  School-specific pairings will be sent by email blast and electronic copies of the full pairings will be available at and at the ballot tables.

5. Several schools have contacted me about using credit cards to pay for the entry fees. We can take credit cards. We can do it either over the phone or when you get here, whichever is easier. If you want to do it over the phone or have questions about our credit card process Bessie Grayson ( would be able to help you with the policies and procedures necessary to take credit cards. Her phone number is (434) 582-2080.

We look forward to seeing you in a few days,
Nick Ryan
