Soul of America - Thank-yous
« on: February 15, 2011, 03:47:58 PM »
Congrats to UMKC and KCK for taking first in the Varsity and JV divisions.....All results should now be posted

I just wanted to say thank you to a few people....
- Two schools who drove long distances - UTSA and Concordia...our tournament is truly in the middle of the country when both of them can drive in one-day's time.  Their presence made the experience better for all.
- Jeff Jarman - the wise sage/pinch hitter for the tab room...without his presence, the tournament would not have run as smoothly.
- Caleb Edwards - He has debated at one tournament this year, yet worked hard to set-up that our tournament provided 6 meals at reasonable costs (including dinner from the nicest Italian restaurant in town).  He then went and personally picked them all up.  Well beyond the call of duty...
- Terri Easley - she was a stabilizing and very helpful co-director in the tab room....
- KSU debaters - A number of them housed students, debated with no prefs or byes, got up early, served as designated shuttle drivers late in the evening/early in the morning, and got orders barked at them.
- Sarah Snider - anything not involving tabulation - she was in charge...and it rocked.
- All of the schools in attendance and especially the judges who were in the partials debate Sunday night - There was an issue requiring tab room discussion that pushed the pairings back 30 minutes.  While certainly frustrating, the climate stayed positive.  Thanks for the maturity shown.
- Joe the busdriver for the KU men's basketball team....Whatever he let Beth Mendenhall and Malcolm Gordon slip into his drink worked on Monday night - go Wildcats!

See yall next year in Manhattan,

Justin Green on behalf of KSU Debate
