« on: March 18, 2011, 10:28:21 AM »
The Board of Trustees and the University of Texas at Dallas are excited to announce that Ms. Lindsay Harrison will be the featured guest speaker at the opening reception of the National Debate Tournament.  The reception will be held at the Westin Hotel at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

Lindsay debated for The Greenhill School where she won NFL Nationals in 1996.  She attended the University of Southern California from 1996 through 1999 and was 7th speaker at the 1999 NDT.  From 2000-2003 she attended the Harvard Law School where she was awarded Best Oralist in the semifinals of the Ames Moot Court competition.

Lindsay is currently a partner at the law firm of Jenner & Block.  In her first year at the firm she was successful in getting the Supreme Court to grant cert to her pro-bono asylum case.  She is one of the youngest persons ever to win a case before the United States Supreme Court.  In addition to the victory on behalf of asylum-seeker Jean Marc Nken, Lindsay also currently represents a death row inmate in Georgia.  Her pro-bono work earned her the 2008 Albert E. Jenner Pro Bono Award.
