I was fortunate to attend an extremely beautiful and moving tribute to the incomparable Billy Tate, and be moved by five great speeches. I will always consider myself fortunate for having known him. The Bronx Science Speech & Debate Team owes him a great deal of gratitude, since he was so extremely supportive of our program through some very difficult times (and through all the great years as well). We love you, Billy. — with Kevin Hamrick and 2 others.

I will never forget his hot sauce speech at MBA last year. The preamble to awarding the XXX prize preamble was unforgettable. Wishing I'd have had more opportunities to get to know him!

Hard to imagine college forensics -- speech and debate -- without Al Johnson from Colorado College, or high school forensics without Billy Tate from the Montgomery Bell Academy. But suddenly, here we are. Rest in peace.
