Debate Coach/Lecturer Position at Samford University

Samford University’s Department of Communication Studies invites applications for an instructor appointment/debate coach to begin August 2012.  The selected candidate will teach courses in the department and coach Samford’s award-winning debate team. 

Candidates must be able to contribute to Samford's innovative core curriculum program.  Teaching load is 2/1.  Applicants should have an M.A. in communication or related field.  In addition to teaching, candidates will be expected to teach Samford’s debaters about basic debate practice, facilitate research assignments, conduct strategy sessions, oversee practice debates, aid in off-campus recruiting efforts, as well as travel to debate tournaments.   Candidates should be supportive of and willing to contribute to the school's Christian mission.
