Pittsburgh Lecturer / Associate Director of Debate

The Department of Communication at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a lecturer/associate director of debate, pending budgetary approval. We seek candidates whose exemplary backgrounds in argumentation pedagogy position them well to assume a leadership role in the William Pitt Debating Union, teach undergraduate courses such as Public Speaking, Argument, and Discussion, and maintain an active scholarly research program. Ph.D. or ABD status and policy debate coaching experience are required, as the successful candidate will assist in the administration of one of the nation’s storied intercollegiate policy debate programs. This is a three-year, non-tenure stream position with possibility of renewal subject to performance review.

Starting date for the position is September 1, 2013. Salary, scholarly assistance, and benefits are competitive.
