thanks for sharing this, Scott.  beyond the fascinating decision itself, the thoughts about home, heritage, work ethic, and more are great to read.  a small portion about two-thirds of the way through talks about topic changes (this ballot covers a lot of issues in just 11 pages). i do think a broad non-govt topic might be more than a con-job Smiley, but we'll have to see.  folks that do not want to debate the topic are not going to debate the topic, true, but it would be nice if less of that was forced.  as you eloquently point out, homes have many levels regardless of physical space.

ps--thanks for standing at the ndt many years ago for a four-year ndt qualifier, nehal shah.  you standing at that moment made a big difference for her and our team and we still talk about that with pride.  small things mean tons.
