University of Iowa, Assistant Debate Coach

The University of Iowa is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Debate Coach for the A. Craig Baird Debate Forum. The start date for the position is August 1, 2014 or negotiable. This position is supervised by the Coordinator of Forensics.

The ACBDF is the oldest student program on campus and receives substantial support from the University in the form of both personnel and financial. The ACBDF is a competitive intercollegiate debate program with a tradition of academic excellence. Students have won the NDT, DSR-TKA, Top Speaker at the NDT, and the Copeland Award. The ACBDF is a comprehensive debate program: Hosting over 12 public debates a year which complement the curricular design of several University departments, administering the Iowa High School Forensics League including hosting the Iowa State Speech and Debate Tournament, partnering with the National Speech and Debate Association, hosting a summer high school debate institute, providing educational seminars and volunteering at area high schools, and hosting international debates since 1924 are examples of yearly commitments.
