Capitol Debate Coaching Positions
« on: November 06, 2014, 10:37:38 PM »
Capitol Debate is a national educational organization committed to providing debate opportunities to students. Our mission is to help students find their voice to effectuate change in their lives, their community, and the world.  As part of our educational mission, Capitol Debate runs summer academic residential camps in multiple cities throughout the United States.  During the school year, we help students build the infrastructure to host their own debate team. For students that can't get a team started, we help them attend debate competitions.

With the growth of students seeking help starting debate teams and getting advanced training, Capitol Debate is currently seeking Assistant Coaches in Public Forum Debate. We have both full time on-site positions in San Diego as well as part time remote positions.

Responsibilities include:
-Teaching and coaching students in competitive Public Forum during the week.  Our online training is conducted via an online education platform in a small group setting with a 4 to 1 debater to coach ratio.
-Hold weekly office hour meetings with partnerships.
-Travel to 3-5 tournaments per semester on the east and west coasts.
-Conduct weekend programming, including practice debates, topic lectures, and skill-building clinics and workshops.
-Attending weekly staff meetings.
-Coordinate and produce small research assignments.

Salary Commensurate with Experience.   Positions available to start between now and January 1.
