Hello,

The University of Texas at Tyler is currently searching for a Director of Forensics for the 2017-2018 debate season. UT Tyler competes in NPDA Parliamentary debate, which is much more akin to NDT/CEDA in terms of its promotion of technical debate than its APDA cousin. UT Tyler is consistently one of the top performing NPDA programs in the country, having won a national championship in 2016 and produced the national top speaker in 2017.

Feel free to click on this link (https://apps.uttyler.edu/faculty/jobs/cas/index.php) to view the original job posting, which I've also included below:

Job Title: Visiting Lecturer SPCM/Coach Debate

Department: Department of Communication

Status: Active

The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a one-year faculty position at the level of Visiting Lecturer for Academic Year 2017-2018. Masters in Communication required. Teaching and experience coaching parliamentary debate are highly desirable. Teaching responsibilities will include instruction of two courses in communication studies/speech communication.

The candidate should demonstrate the ability to assist in directing a debate program and to provide service to the Department.

The Department of Communication has approximately 150 undergraduate majors and offers degrees in journalism--with options in news editorial and public relations--and speech communication.

Review of applications begins immediately and will continue until position has been filled. Applicants must include in their application materials a list and contact information of 5 references, some of whom must address the applicant's coaching experience and some of whom must address the applicant's teaching experience. Interested applicants should send a letter of application, curriculum vita, and contact information for five references to Dr. Marsha Matthews, Department of Communication, The University of Texas at Tyler, 3900 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75799. MMatthews@uttyler.edu

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code Section 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. UT Tyler is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
