The invite for the 2017 Kentucky College tournament is now available on Tabroom. Importantly, significant changes to judge placement will be implemented. In the spirit of innovation the tournament will adopt a two category system of “ones” and “strikes”. Teams will be asked to rank 75% of the rounds as “ones” and 25% of the rounds as strikes. Mutual ones will be placed in all the debates. Despite significant experimentation over the years the benefits of mutual preference judging have been largely untested. This particular experiment is designed to encourage a number of values we believe college debate should promote including diverse judge placement, adaptation, and exposure to different ideas and people over the course of a tournament. We look forward to hosting many of you this fall.
