Has your life been impacted by policy debate? Do you want to increase access to policy debate for young people?

If you’re passionate about debate, interested in stretching your skills as a writer, and seeking to build a communications and public relations portfolio, this role of Marketing & Development Coordinator is for you.

The Minnesota Urban Debate League is seeking a strong communicator to help expand its mission: to empower students through competitive academic debate to become engaged learners, critical thinkers, and active citizens who are effective advocates for themselves and their communities. We’re looking for a skilled writer to tell the wider world the story of our amazing students and why debate matters.

This position, which begins in August 2018, is one of the only opportunities to both complete a nationally-recognized year of service and give back to the forensics community. The role is completed through AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer In Service To America), which involves these benefits and more:

  • Eligibility to receive a $5920 education award after completion
  • Education award matching by select universities
  • Non-competitive eligibility for federal employment one year after completion

MNUDL has a friendly, supportive workplace with a strong emphasis on personal development. Its office is located in the heart of Minneapolis at Augsburg University’s beautiful campus.
