Melissa Maxcy Wade Award Honoring Debate as a Public Good
« on: August 12, 2019, 09:45:33 AM »
Melissa Maxcy Wade, the Executive Director of the Barkley Forum at Emory University for over 43 years, dedicated her career to the promotion of debate not just in an insular academic setting, but as a means to foster dialogue about difficult issues and to effect change in our communities.  In 2015, she was the first recipient of the Melissa Maxcy Wade Award Honoring Debate as a Public Good.  The award committee is now seeking nominations of other individuals with ties to the debate community who are committed to using debate as a public good or encouraging and empowering others to use debate as a public good.

Please submit nominations to kara.grant@emory.edu by August 30, 2019.  The award recipient will be announced during the awards presentation at the Georgia State University tournament on September 16, 2019.
